Assemblyman Hal Wirths, a previous owner of a small business in Sussex County, was pleased today to accept the endorsement of the New Jersey Organization for a Better State, commonly known as NEW JOBS, in the 24th Legislative District that includes all of Sussex County, 11 towns in Warren County and Mt. Olive in Morris County.

Chrissy Buteas, Executive Director of NEW JOBS, said the endorsement acknowledges “work with the business community to lower the cost of doing business, create jobs and build a better business climate.”

Assemblyman Wirths was appreciative of the support of NEW JOBS.

“I want to thank NEW JOBS for recognizing my record and acknowledging that I want make New Jersey a better place to own a business, employ our residents and fight against the Murphy’s liberal Democrat agenda against free enterprise.

“I will continue to stand up against Murphy’s tax hikes on small business owners and his administration’s job-killing regulations,” Wirths added.  “We need to foster an environment to promote freedom and economic development and not destroy it.”

Assemblyman Wirths is also a former Labor Commissioner.

“We made New Jersey a national leader in combating unemployment insurance fraud, preventing nearly $700 million in benefits fraud and recovering more than $100 million in benefits paid out improperly, Wirths stated.  “These measures will ensure that the Trust Fund remains solvent.

“We eliminated a $213 million federal tax hike that New Jersey employers were facing in January 2014.  And because of the growing health and solvency of the Trust Fund, New Jersey employers have realized $380 million in tax relief – the largest single unemployment tax reduction in New Jersey history.

The New Jersey Organization for a Better State (NEW JOBS) NEW JOBS is the fastest growing ideological business PAC in the State. Established in 1959, NEW JOBS is a bipartisan organization that supports pro-business candidates for the State Legislature who will work with the employer community to promote a pro-business climate in New Jersey, actively support measures to spur economic growth, the creation of private-sector jobs, and the lowering of business costs.
